Fields of the Nephilim - Paradise Regained DVD Live 1991 DVD with: For Her Light/At The Gates/Paradise Regained/rees Come Down/Summerland/Watchmen/Moonchild/Submission/Psychonaut/Last Exit To The Lost. A live set filmed after the release of Elizum in 1991. The video and sound is A+ quality. A great visual to the amazing talent of this gothic band. Some of the footage is dark and smokey but it fits the band's music style perfectly. The best part of this DVD is that is has that 'play it over and over' quality. A highly recommended gothic DVD! Magnum Carnage - Digital Wolves CDEP Wicked thrash metal sounding like Sadus and early Kreator, sometimes melodic. Most of the tracks have that slow eerie beginning. Track 3 is by far the best, sounds like a slow Casbah demo tape. Very 80's underground metal sound - but thats a good thing. Check them on MySpace - www.myspace.com/magnumcarnage Reviewed by: Spidey

Ahab Rex - Blood on Blonde - CD Wacked out bizarre CD. Not sure what to make of this in a gothic sense. Musically sounding like The Breeders with low whispered vocals. A few tracks kinda rock. The best mood feeling song is track 10 - Blood on Blonde. There is also a remix of the Ordinary Things track - this sounds semi-techno EBM - vocals are buried, so it sounds eerie - wow, listening as this review is written - this track is awesome! This CD features ex members of PIL, Ministry, PigFace, and Information Society. CD is due out Oct 31, 2006. You can hear and read more about the band on their MySpace - http://www.myspace.com/ahabrex I went and got a shovel, to dig her up in my mind 2006 Ahab Rex. Are those Weeding Bells or Gunshots. Demonika and the Darklings - Velvet Blush 5 track CDEP starts out with a steady eerie low-fi (no guitar) medieval gothic sounding track (Blood and First Bite). Second track has a slight industrial feel and sound to it (Watching From the Outside). Track three is where it gets REALLY GOOD - sounding like Black Tape for a Blue Girl (Carousel of Flames). Track four is even better - Hypnotic Bass and drums with PERFECT vocals (October Moon). Last track has a gothic dark melancholy feel to it (Wandering Wondering). An all girl goth group (Vocals, Bass, Violin, and electronic programming). Moody, Eerie and Beautiful. Recommended! Reviewed by: Spidey

Revolver Modele - Discotheque Crypt CD 2006 That perfect 80's GOTHIC ROCK sound from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sounding like a perfect cross between Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and early The Cure. Music is filled with a lot of energy and character. From looking at the CD cover and title it would appear to be some generic dark dance music but they're all real: Bass, Drums, Guitar, Vocals. Great amazing music, like a lost 80's Goth band. CD Tracks: Les Diaboliques / Ah Ah Ah / Delirium Tremens / High Heels / Icons / Masks / The Ache / Body Without Organs / Fiction / Deca-dance / In The Aisles. CD has a bonus video of "Les Diaboliques" . Go to their site and listen to Ah Ah Ah and you'll know you've found your next favorite band. Reviewed by: Spidey

Initial Prayer - The Last Men in Europe - CD 2005 An AMAZING CD! Starts out slow and eerie then gets slow and heavy, something like Godflesh and the Swans. Its the kind of CD where you don't listen to a track or two, you listen to the whole thing from start to finish. Heavy guitars, harmonics - blending each track into the next. Gets better and better after each listen. Hard to believe that this is their FIRST release. By far the BEST CD we've received at DarkGrave.com
Tracks on this CD: White Waters / All Hope Fails / In Defence / Turn to Light / We Serve / prelude / Beyond good and evil / Fourth Law / The Longest Journey.

CockFight Club - Uber Guber - CD Intense, industrial tech mash. At first listen they sound a bit like Helio's Creed (space rock, Planet X is ESSENTIAL listening!). After a few listens it sounds like a blend of Helio's Creed and Gary Numan, maybe a little NIN. Some of the tracks have an interesting dance feel to it. The guitar solos remind me of the Jeff Hanneman Demo Tape (Slayer) The best track is #6 (Planchette) - if they did more of the tracks like this then Uber Guber would be a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED CD. The Remix track (Vampyric) is also really good. "I come from a planet thats quite far away - But my ship is so fast I got here in a day." Reviewed by: Spidey

Flatline Transmissions - CDEP 2005 Heavy guitar industrialness & High-tech synth goth. Sounds like several bands that released music on WaxTrax Records back in the late 80's, like Meat Beat Mainfesto, Cyberaktif, and maybe KMFDM. Best song on the CDEP is 'She Said'. Music is well produced and well played. Music like this always sounds like soundtrack music for movies like The Matrix. Reviewed by: Spidey

Circle Clan-Follow the White Line CD (2003) Heavy Sci-Fi Industrial with REALLY LOUD Slayer sounding guitars! This sounds like music that would be used in a car chase from The Matrix (movie). They remind me of Cyberaktif (WaxTrax). The best track on this is Dopehaus (Track #4). This also contains 2 extra tracks: a remix of Track #2 (Follow the White Line), and a 'remix' of Track #6 (Girl). There is a slow ambient track called Leaf, which was really good, but was only 2 min long. The original Girl mix (track #6) is actually a mellow 'made for radio' kind of track. Reviewed by: Spidey

Subsonic Symphonee - Images - CDEP (2003) irst impression: An aggressive industrial WaxTrax sound - similar to KMFDM, Front 242, and Front Line Assembly. This CDEP contains 7 version of 'Images' - the original from the forthcoming 'eXtreme eVolution' CD and a 3 1/2 minute radio cut, plus 4 remix versions by Robert Cross, DJ Acid Reign, DJ TonyC, and DJ Killavirus. Each remix runs and average time of 6 minutes, with the Robert Cross mix being the best. This CDEP also contains the video of 'Images'. The band looks like they came out of the Charlton Heston movie The Omega Man - the 'they only come out at night' people - and we all know that the best people only come out at night. Lilac Ambush -Fragile - CDEP WOW! Their 3rd release, and I must say I am completely amazed! This could be one of the best undiscovered gothic bands of 2002. This release contains four tracks of dark Depeche Mode style greatness. They seems to have developed into a strong/full sound that MUST be heard! Get this for the track called 'Dead Wood' - You'll be listening to that song for a long long time. Reviewed by: Spidey

Zeitgeist - Spirit of the Times - CDEP This is a promotional CD featuring assorted tracks from their regular releases. They sound like a very mean gothic rock band - mean in a nice way. They do a cover of a Christian Death song on this CDEP. This is the kind of goth you want to play really loud - and there aren't too many band like that. Reviewed by: Spidey

Lilac Ambush - Breathe Deep - CDEP An improved sound compared to the Earthbound CDEP. Better production and better songs, which usually happens after a first release. Maintains the 80's Pop Gothic sound as on their Earthbound CDEP. Think Depeche Mode, early Xymox and Gary Numan. Reviewed by: Spidey
